As we were sailing into Newport Harbor this afternoon we got hit with thunderstorms. We tried to anchor but the windless broke so we went to plan B, we picked up a mooring.
Everytime we leave the mooring we have an adventure.
I have found that the most difficult part of sailing is leaving the dock, or in our case a mooring. And it's not because I don't know how to start the engine and cast off the lines lol. I know now that is actually an underlying fear of change, and need for safety. The ego masks it as complacency and comfort but it's not.
Once underway and the sails go up, that's when life becomes unpredictable, spontanious, flowing, and somes times a bit dangerous but fun! I feel alive! That's what life is about living your life to the fullest.
Many say life is to short, but I agree with Senaca who wrote that life is long if you know how to live it.
So are you waiting at the dock for just the right moment to get underway and follow your dreams? Ask yourself why?
Contact me if you need help leaving the doc.
