I don't think all of them do it. It looks like they just do the motion ngl

Their book isn’t a whole bunch of notes or anything stupid difficult, but it’s so musical and clean. 😮

Got to see this at Finals, and was staying at the same hotel their drum staff was. Watched them walk the Sanford Trophy across the street from Lucas Oil and proceed to host the most earned trophy-worshipping ceremony of the night in the parking lot . Clean and tasty, start to finish, with enough OMGs to make me smile no matter how many times I see it.

I'm surprised you don't see more drum to drum. I know the 80s burned it out but it really is something the fans like. I think they can find a new way to do it where it goes next level. Also, I kinda wish more lines would do more of the Scottish style "Down the line" visuals. Examples I'm talking about would be 1989 and 1990 Phantom Regiment. I always thought that looked so clean when done right. Cheers, Cavs! 🍻

Those ripple visuals still happen but definitely not the norm, but seeing as everyone is throwing back alot lately maybe more!

Clean always wins. You don’t need to be super difficult in everything, just pick your battles and have good writing. Cavaliers did that this year. Certain open class book’s breaks are more difficult than this, but this wins always because of their cleanliness

Musicality>packing as many notes possible into every measure. Don't try to diss the group that just won a sanford award lol

@@brandonvaught6303 Yeah, these comments really separate professionals from amateurs. At a certain point as a musician, you enter a juvenile phase where you favor physical difficulty and technical skill over all other things, and you judge other musicians and yourself by how many notes you can ram together in a phrase. If you ever become a true professional, this 'ego' phase occurs naturally during your progression, but you mature out of it and realize it's a very tacky and basic mindset. Some people don't really improve or evolve as musicians and end up stuck there, and you can always hear it in their playing and how they judge who they're listening to.

Vanguard has relatively easy books that match the music, but also have very choppy parts at time. It's better to have musicality be just as much a priority than just chops, that's why vanguard has almost always won the Sanford.

it's clean for certain. solid quality of sound. but it's nowhere near the level of boston's book ultimately. and they were insanely clean as well ... all season. it's as if the judge reacted to the throwback vibes in a very subjective way.

Sorry, but Boston was nowhere near as clean as Cavies. They had lots of ticks.
