You mentioned that cyl 1&2 were the worst but compared 1&4 with the new & old rings, maybe this was just for camera but did you find the .025 gap on all cylinders with the old rings? No follow up vid, was that the only issue you found? Just curious 😄 Great channel btw!

honda also allow 1 litre per 1000 miles my old 2012 was about the same as this for oil burning but the air box was covered internally with oil ? so i did think it was blow by ... and the bike was on 7 thousand miles .. honda of old 2000 are known to oval out the bores but the blades 2008 on are known to drink oil

Ha yes just a smaller car cylinder head in design really. Yes the BMW will be an interesting one, usually just a bent Conrod or two. BMW can be pricey on parts but our labour is the same on all engines

Common problem Lee, liners are very hard and they wear the rings, done one a few years ago using 1.5 litres of oil per 1k miles with only 20k on the clock

My 1997 Yamaha 900 Diversion did 75,000 miles with me. Zero oil burnt between 6K oil changes. The cams had zero wear when I checked clearances and a new clutch cost £50. To my knowledge it’s still on the road with well over 100K miles and still no oil burning.
