Cecil Jones High School in the early eighties, most likely 1981. Pupils at the school filmed by another pupil for a fictional short. Other reels and sound not found.
Cecil Jones was at two sites -- the old Wentworth Road Girls School site was C-Block and the larger Main Block site on Eastern Avenue near (in those days) The Golden Goblet Public House (now a fast-food restaurant).
Cecil Jones or CJHS (now Cecil Jones Academy) had a very large intake of students each year. Among its notable past headteachers was Tony Cross (author of 'St Helena: Including Ascension Island and Tristan Da Cunha') who was in post at the time this film was made. The overall headmaster was CPV Ellington. Other notable ex-students include LBC radio's Maajid Nawaz (and please feel free to add others in Comments).
Also shown: Palace Theatre Centre, London Road, West Road Police Station (external).
School footage features Paul J, Gordon G, Melissa W, Sally M and others.
