Good close primitive sites. Love how close it is to DFW. 👍 Love the empty trail. We need to go back here. Well done. 👍

Guadalupe River had something similar at the park too. It’s a nice park and great for biking. I wished the day use area was open, but maybe next year.

This park has tons of short hikes. Penn Farm was nice, you could explore some of the buildings. We did a day trip at the park since we in the DFW area. What’s the longest hike you been on?
@HappyPlaceCamping

@@MrSTravelQuest Longest ever was about 12 miles round trip. That was a few years ago back when we did a lot of hiking. I almost didn't make it back on that one. We never did one that long again.

@@HappyPlaceCamping You got us beat! We did 8miles round trip and it got dark. We were at Caprock Canyons, playing it cool. I realized halfway in it was going to get dark and we rushed back. I was worried about running into Bisons, wild hogs or coyotes. It was the quickest and quietest hike we ever did.

WOW, that huge bird that took off from the barn was awesome. This was the first park we did a video on, and I did a terrible job, LOL. The park is near Tania's family, so once the lockdown is over, this will be the first park we get back to, so I can do a proper video review on it. They have a lot of trails, and we didn't get to see the old farm.

The park has some great biking trails. We did a day trip since I was in the DFW area. Penn Farm was great! In seeing who had what videos I seen you did one. I know every time we make videos we keep getting better :-) . The park flooded and had some damage been done. The swimming area and some camping area are closed until 2022. I think your girls would love checking out Penn Farm, you can go inside some of the building. Thanks for stopping by David.

One of the best in the metroplex 🤙. Well done and glad you got to hit up the duck pond trail. That’s a nice loop trail. The Penn homestead always impresses with how many structures they built and their size. Good stuff sir🙌🏼

It's nice! I can't believe that DFW 30 mins away from the park. I wanted to visit the other trails, but maybe next time. Was the beach/swimming area closed during your visit? I remember you guys were swimming in your video. The Penn homestead was nice! We went into a few of the buildings and read on the history. The park never felt crowded, which was great.

@@MrSTravelQuest yea the swimming area was closed for construction so we just found a faux-beach 😂. We just drove around and we’re like “right here is good” and jumped in!

@@ConsidertheWonders I don't blame you, it gets HOT out here! I took some video of the camping area, but left it out. It seems to have limited shading and some sites were closed. What other parks do you recommend checking out in the DFW area. I'm heading back next week.

I’m not 100% sure. I would call the park to double check. This park is more known for its biking trails (dorba). On the park map it states all trails allow multiuse unless indicated.
