The Cedar Run Trail intersects with the White Oak Canyon Trail in Shenandoah National Park. We started at the bottom and hiked about 1.5 miles of the Cedar Run Trail. I was targeting Brook Trout and hoping to find some at the lower elevations near the Trailhead but was unsuccessful.
I fished my way up and caught the first of many Brook Trout on a green inchworm dropper. I later caught some on small dry flies (16-20 size) and one near the end of the day on an olive woolly bugger.
The Cedar Run Trail is my favorite of the SNP streams, thus far. There are waterfalls galore and the scenery is spectacular. This hike & fish was Feb 2022.
