The Victors. It’s been called “the greatest fight song of all time.”
Written on a train ride from Chicago to Ann Arbor in 1898 by Michigan student Louis Elbel, it started a tradition that is still enthusiastically celebrated 125 years later. Behind every student, athlete, and fan... there is a history with The Victors.
You sing The Victors when you become a Wolverine. You shout it when you’re celebrating with your fellow Wolverines. And when you hear it on graduation day, it serves as a reminder of every victory you’ve achieved in Ann Arbor, both on and off the field.
For 125 years, the Michigan Marching Band has worked tirelessly to bring The Victors to stadiums, parades, and events across the country. Their countless hours of focus and commitment to excellence continue the enthusiasm for greatness that inspired Louis Elbel way back in 1898.
This is our song, our school, our Michigan.
We are the Victors valiant.
