Alex Kusturok plays fiddle like you've never heard before. A combination of Métis, East Coast, and Cajun fiddle styles, he's part of the extended Grande family, contributing to three of the songs on our album "Songs From The Dirt Road" from Memphis and The Grande ... "When They Dance," "Merle Haggard Way," and "Hold On, Cowboy."
We've had the privilege of playing with Alex and are deeply grateful that our paths cross from time to time! It's always a reason to celebrate, and we appreciate your support.
Visit www.alexkusturok.com to listen to his music. He's been described as “The Métis Ashley MacIsaac.” His brand new album "Wedged in Tradition" defines and pushes the boundaries of Métis music, with some wonderful traditional songs as well as covers.

Alex Kusturok's Wedged in Tradition
Thank you for the support on the new album, this project is a labour of love. The concept, wedged in tradition, is meant to showcase my original compositions and to illustrate keeping them within the tradition of Métis music. Everything that I play has the feel of the Elders who have played music before me. My goal with this project is that it will bring our culture to younger audiences and audiences around the world, blending modern influences while keeping our traditions and danceability at the forefront.
Track 1
The Red River Jig
I have taken this beautiful melody and, while keeping the feel, have taken it to a place where it will appeal to young people and our Elders.
