Summer solstice Sandy, Dave and Charles gather in a ring, Chatting about legs and bikes and things, It’s summer and we begin, Setting out with a grin, We are determine to win, What may start out as spin, Soon has the heart beating strongly from within On roads, up or down, straight or leaning on a hairpin, Soon there a shout from the Wiltshire twins, Shall we settle for a cuppa at an inn, Helping to reinvigorate within, Steady, steady, hold steady old boys, For we ride and roam, Often not so far frome home, Street wise or a country boys, Huddled down and determined, for all gains, On the hills or valleys, on moors or Mountains, We glide along, ah those memories we retain, Huddled down in race mode, wind blows, hold steady old boys, The landscape colours forever on the change, Views whichever way you turn, just rearrange, In sunlight, our hill is soon within range, Tan Hill our target, where animals are free-range, A 1000mtr climb far above all those Druids so estrange, It’s a nod and a smile we exchange, Now homebound all down range. Guided or wandering we are cycling, Riding, roaming, feeling, smiling, For we are pedaling, we are cycling, Sandy, Dave and Charles, summering, Within a world, in this moment we are living, Thank you summer Solstice.

Hi Sandy, I am enjoying your Solstice. Here in NZ I live in Timaru, we did have a sunny day with a temperature of about, felt like 5. I always admire how you make your countryside look so empty of people, You know our country is near enough to the same size as yours with a population of about 5 million, 70% of them in the North Island. Your London has nearly double our whole country's population. Enjoy your summer, I'm going to enjoy mine in a few months. Andrew.

Mostly the population is crammed into miserable cities over here and you can still thankfully find vast tracts of land without people in the UK. Generally though we Brits are a bit hard done by due to the high numbers of people crammed in over here and also the high taxes

What a smashing little film, the three of you gents not in the first flush of youth but kids just the same! Someone in the comments below has already said what I was about to say - you are blessed with such good friends as Dave and Charles. You make a very happy bunch. I envy you the wonderful chalk - my grandparents retired to Mere, both gone now and much missed. I dread to think what my grandpa would have thought of the vandalism at Stonehenge.

Good on you three. When you think of that British mountain climber, Sir Edmund Hilary, who climbed up Mount Everest, he must have been in excellent shape, considering he was raised in an environment so close to sea level. In the Sudbury basin, in Ontario Canada, the low point is about 280m above sea level.

Another great video Sandy , i did a solstice ride aswell so we were out at the same time close by in the lovely weather ! I did the ridgeway barbury castle to Avebury section & back on my hardtail mtb . Last couple times i done on my gravel bike which wasnt really suitable considering the deeply rutted bits , concentration required on the ruts though . I didnt and took a tumble , only low speed and nothing more than a sore wrist ! Thanks for the great bike videos 👍🚴

Nice film Sandy. I grew up in All Cannings just down below Tan hill & was always told that Milk hill was only higher because of some artificial addition. Not sure how true this was? Also the trig point used to be about 100ft into the corn field you're next to at 17:08 (used to climb the fence & go & stand on top of it quite often), but I believe the farmer had it moved to one corner some time ago. Cheers.
