For Christians (including Catholics), the Christmas season is usually celebrated for 12 days and ends on the Feast of Epiphany, which is usually during the first week of January.
I've noticed since living in Portugal that the Portuguese make a bigger deal with Epiphany than in the US. Maybe because 80%+ of Portuguese are Catholic and it is part of their traditions and culture? Anyway, as a fellow Catholic, I love it! 👑💛🙏🏼
At our church in Albufeira, the parish goes all out and even has 3 parishioners cosplay the three kings and (of course) bestow gifts to all the children doing the religious education classes. It is so fun for them!
Here is a video of our Epiphany celebration earlier this month (this year it was January 6th). Obviously Jax was so excited with the prospect of receiving yet another gift! 😅🎁
I ordered Jax a lamp he wanted from Leroy Merlin (the French Home Depot) but it did not get here in time for this celebration so I boxed and wrapped his advent calendar chocolates 😭. But, I will have to show you the lamp when it finally arrives!
