Ok but there will be better out there, i recommend spend a little more money on a better one if you can, if not it's OK for the money

Have you tried looking at dimmer objects like star clusters for example? Does it cause dimming of the views?

honestly, i havent had the chance to because of the clouds. i want to view the orion nebula.

@@irfanrashid2114 you wouldn’t use a barlow for star clusters

@@hakman239 Exactly, most deep space objects don't need a Barlow. I have the Tele Vue 2x Barlow and this Omni. Reason I bought the Omni is the TV's lens screws off, but it has different thread and will not screw onto other eyepieces for the .5x boost. For star clusters you want a high enough power eyepiece with a wide field of view like a 5mm Dual ED Starguider* with 60° fov if you cannot afford the $150+ eyepieces. If $70 is too high BST makes a 4.5mm 58° wide fov for $58, but it isn't ED glass, extra low dispersion type of glass that lets more light through. Only time I will use my 2x Barlow for deep space is to split binary stars. I will say the Omni is very good and worth the money, but not quite as good as the 2x 1.25" Tele Vue for $35 more. It doesn't dim my target whatsoever as long as the eyepiece I'm using doesn't. What DIMS your views is too much magnification. Yes, trying to shove too much light into a high power eyepiece makes for dimmer views. Remember if your focus is deep space, use standard to wide view EPs, if planets or splitting stars a narrow field EP and Barlow work well together. That is what works for me and my telescopes. Ever see those videos where the planets are fuzzy, dark and moving like Jello? You look down and see a 5x Barlow specified as what they're using. Never try to take photos or video if the planet is out of focus, dimmer than it should be and the seeing conditions are lousy. If you cannot get the planet in focus then using a Barlow won't improve it. Using a 5x Barlow on a big bright Jupiter is ridiculous and Auto Stacker isn't going to fix inexperience. I look at Jupiter or Saturn and get them into sharp focus even if it means making them smaller. I can zoom in on them with the camera, but I want them as sharp as conditions allow. I will use my 18mm Takahashi Ortho and use the 2x TV Barlow and get good views of all but Uranus. For Uranus I drop down to a 10m ortho and catch it, but I cannot make out anything like on Mars at opposition and don't bother anymore unless seeing conditions are very good. *agenaastro.com/agena-1-25-dual-ed-eyepiece-5mm.html agenaastro.com/

Im not sure about an ASI as i have never used one but it can be screwed onto the SV205 from SvBony. So maybe yes 👍🙂

I have a 1.25" 2x Tele Vue Barlow and this one, it isn't very much different from the TV which is a good as they come. I think the TV beats the Omni only when I'm splitting dim binaries. The TV's lens screws off, but has different threads and will not screw onto other eyepieces.

The one I have feels OK quality in my hand. Never had one of these from a reputable store to compare with but they do cost a lot more
