I just spent 2 mos in. Hospital due to necrotizing fasciitis on top of my foot ( streptococcus A) I had surgery and they removed the skin off top of my foot and I woke up seeing the bones ligaments in my foot exposed no skin! I’m in month 4 of wound care and debreidment I cannot walk and life sucks The doctors tell me it will be 6 to 8 mos to walk Finding a post surgery shoe that’s open at top of foot is difficult 😮 My life has changed drastically.. I’m still happy with my decision I would not agree to leg amputation I still have my foot and leg but a lot of healing ahead

@@DrMK7 Thank You Doc👍 sharing this critical medical data is key to public awareness re: life threatening Necrotizing Faciitis I think back to November I went to the emergency room as I could barley put pressure on the foot but it was crowded and I left to get some advil and didn’t return until the 3rd day which was a mistake. I was rushed to surgery immediately after being diagnosed. If I had seen this video I know I would’ve stayed!

I got stabbed multiple times last October, (one head wound behind ear, two in the back, one to the leg, one to the hand caused broken pinky finger) then all through November I had cellulitis of the submental lymph node. Extreme swollen growth underneath chin and swelling spread to upper chest. I don't remember exactly what I was prescribed, but it went away or began draining right when the prescription ran out (maybe doxycycline hyclate). Then they said I had folliculitis when I later developed a metastasizing boil in the center of my right quad. At that point they prescribed me cephalexin, Aka Keflex, which I suggested because it was the first antibiotic I was ever prescribed for a bacterial infection. I ended up transferring the prescription into innate, clear cellulose capsules because I don't trust the artificial colors or additives in the original prescription capsules, likely gelatin. This was extremely traumatic because I had to fight for my life when I was attacked, then again to prevent the condition from progressing to sepsis. Both of my feet and knees were exposed to multiple lesions/abrasions from the rough road. The bacterial infection didn't effect any particular stab wound or either foot, but began in one knee (left knee). Once healed from the initial wounds/cellulitis infection, then it surged again starting on my butt and spreading to the right quad, where it persisted for what felt like a few months. Now, months later, I'm dealing with a nasty boil on my butt again with possibly 3-4 drainage sights on one boil. About 1.5 inches diameter. Can you tell me if you think the previous prescriptions only suppressed the infection, making it more resistant overall? Would you suggest this is the same bug coursing through my system that was planted during the stabbing incident last October? Or would you guess it's more likely from a dirty toilet seat? Thank you for your help, time and dedication! 🙏

Hello, I'm very sadden to hear your story however I have a few questions for you, first did they ever do a pus swab for microscopy/culture/sensitivity (MCS) on any of the boils? if not kindly do one because you may be dealing with an infection that may already be resistant to the antibiotics you were or are being given. Secondly you should have been given a course of Intravenous (IV) antibiotics and not just oral drug as the efficacy of these formulations tends to differ. Thirdly get a full blood count/complete blood count and blood culture as this may help you know if there is anything residual in the system. That is the first starting point to helping you. the dirty toilet seat could be a possibility but first find out if the bug you have is resistant or not that's the only way you will effectively treat it. I hope this helps. Kind regards.

@@DrMK7 There was no significant swab or MCS. I kept my leg wound (right quad) covered at the hospital during the secondary infection. I think it had already drained and was like a nickel-sized sunken crater. During the initial cellulitis, the half baseball-sized growth had no exit point through the (epi)dermis under my chin. Can you tell me if high caffeine and salt intake would make this condition worsen?
