Thanks. Yes, I didn't know about it either until I saw that reference photo. Then I had to search to see what kind of trailer or sledge it might be pulling. I was lucky to find a 3D model of one :)

Looks Brilliant the figures make it too, i would have thought in real life the sleds where towed with high tension wire but could be wrong, any news vid where you see them it look like wire, interesting on the pic it looks like they have blocked the cannon for water ingress

Thanks. I sort of made up the connection mechanism - it's hard to find references - so you may well be right.

Very nicely done. What was the purpose of the degree marking on the turret, any idea? The ammo sled was an excellent addition to both the model and the actual tanks.

Thanks. I believe the markings were added because originally the plan was to fire the Centaur's weapons from the landing craft, and never actually take them ashore. I think in the narrow craft the markings made aiming easier.

Heres a 3d printing tip: Orient your model at 45-90 degrees will reduce the number of supports needed. Cheers!!

Thanks. This one was oriented at 45 degrees but I'd been having some build plate adhesion issues so I really went to town on the supports :) I also find that a lot of small/light supports is often better than fewer larger ones.

Great looking Centaur mate. I do have a couple of questions. Would it not have been easier to paint the tow cables and tools separate, then attach them to the tank after the main painting stage? What was that cable that went from the raised turret hatch PE frame, to the bracket on the engine deck for? EG wouldn't it just go slack or tight when the turret was turned to either side? Or even snap. It just looks a bit odd. A great looking model though. The sled just adds extra cracking detail. Well done.

Great questions - and the only one I know the answer to is the tools one. You can (and I do) paint them before or after - there are pros and cons to both ways. As for the engine deck cable - I've no idea - they were just on the instructions. The rear one is obviously for strengthening, but the one to the turret? No idea!

@@ModelNerd Yeah lol. I just thought it looked odd. You can understand the 2 bracing wires. I would expect that raised exhaust guard would have taken some battering from the waves when coming ashore. So the bracing cables make sense. Just not sure about that cable to the turret lol.

What a beautiful result! The details and the different colors really make the model pop. And tbh I’m impressed how good this rather simple weathering works. Well done mate!!

Could anyone tell me what the degree markings on the turret were used for? Thanks you

It's to do with the original plan to fire the Centaur's weapons only from the decks of the landing craft. It was to help guide the fire onto target.

I really like what you've done with this build, MN. It's turned out really well and the subtle weathering enhances the one colour camo scheme, especially the use of the splatter effect.....something that I will definitely use in future builds as I'm not a fan of really super weathered armour. Such a simple process but highly effective.
