i feel like century arms as a whole will go the way of Radical firearms did in the ar15 world. it had severe QC issues that were well documented, and turned everyone off. then they came out with some great models, people tried them and liked them, but the companies reputation was so damaged that it took a few more releases, to where now they are recommended as a good solid entry level budget AR that will last a good while.

VSKAs aren’t bad for the money . Unless you get a lemon, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. Definitely better than a 100 yard rifle, though, even with irons. Whatever anyone says about Century’s, they are accurate and they have one of the better triggers you will find on AKs. The barrels aren’t cold hammer forged like the East European ones but they are 4150 chrome moly vanadium and there is nothing wrong with them. If you zero the irons properly and practice, you should have no trouble at all hitting a man-sized target at 200 yards. Anyway, the AKs made in “countries that hate us” are no longer imported. I don’t think Poland hates us at all and their WBP “Jack” is one of the best AKs you can get, and it’s not prohibitively expensive, no more than a higher end AR, around $1200-$1400 clams Serbia is still rather bitter about NATO bombing them under Clinton in the late 90s, but it’s a bit of a stretch to say that they “hate” us, and they make one of the best AKs for the price that you can get on the US market, the M70 ZPAP, which can still be had for around a grand. If you’re satisfied with your VSKA that’s great. If you want to step up to something a bit better, then you still don’t have to give money to people who “hate” us. Just sayin.

Wow, this has to be one of the most uninformed opinions I’ve seen to date. There’s just so much I could debate… if an AK is a “100 yard rifle at best”, that’s a deficient shooter, not a deficient rifle. A “100% American made AK” is typically a red flag to most, if not all, AK collectors and shooters (people who spend more time around them than you do). American made AKs are notorious for their quality control issues and lack of reliability. Why would you buy something that WILL fall apart at 5k rounds (or less), or blow up and injure/kill you, over a rifle from a NATO country (Romania), and makes an AK that WILL NOT fall apart or kill you. You should have gone with a Century WASR and it would have cost you about the same and you’d get a 10x better rifle. By “glorifying an AK”, I am not glorifying Russia or any other country that “hates us”. People glorify the weapon and it’s engineering. If it was a trash rifle, why has it been used against us for the last 70 years with measurable success? And no, steel is not steel with AKs. If it’s not forged steel, you WILL run into problems. If it’s not assembled properly, you WILL run into problems. P.S. 9mm > .45

@commiesandmums
Жыл бұрын
@@csm5040 Negative. The VSKA does not have a forged trunnion, but some tool grade steel trunnion. If the trunnion isn’t forged then don’t buy it. The consequences of this are well documented online. The longevity of the rifle depends on the strength of the steel and forged steel is the best. With that being said, the rifle still has to be assembled correctly and some US companies using forged components still can’t get their acts together, resulting in poor quality rifles that end up having issues. Foreign AKs are the best way to get a rifle that will stand the test of time and protect yourself and family. Don’t buy “made in the USA” only to be caught with a garbage rifle when you really need it.

Unfortunately not a lot of people understand why some AK's can blow up and what they need to look for to make sure their buying one that wont. You can literally go to PSA and buy a GF3 AK at around 599 and it'll have forged parts.
