Cerrone is up there with Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Nile Rodgers, MFSB, and SalSoul Orchestra for creating disco music which would change to house and EDM music.

Europe made disco become chilly and 'star warrish', since we Europeans had been so much into prog rock and we basically wouldn't conceive music without keyboards. After progressive, electronic 'new prog' music was rising high with people like Alan Parsons, Jean Michel Jarre, etc., hence the connection with disco came almost natural. How strange but intense is the way such a sensuous and sexy stylistic music like funky-disco could live side by side to those cold keyboard sounds. A perfect blend.

Great to discover this short documentary. I remember buying Love In C Minor back in 77 it was a new exciting futuristic euro electro sound but with soulful vocals. It was more orchestral than Giorgio Moroeder's work with Donna Summer. It had touches of Kraftwerk & Barry White's lush orchestration. Of course typically for the time it got zero airplay on BBC Radio 1, the blandest radio station in the world at the time. Very few real disco/dance tracks or soul/funk records made it onto the Radio 1 playlist back then- even established African American superstars like Diana Ross struggled to get their records played on Radio 1. Supernature was his breakthrough hit in the UK but only thanks to Kenny Everett featuring it on his TV show with dance group Hot Gossip performing their "raunchy" (for 78) routine to the track. Corona was a pioneer leading the way for David Guetta, Daft Punk Bob Sinclair, Mirwas, Spiller to dominate dance music since 2000. He still sounds fresh today

Well, it seems that if it wasn't for the takeover of the disco genre music, most current music venues would not have existed. Disco did not only took over the world(s), but revolutionized accessible tangents of music discoveries. Although the "disco-unification" of the people no longer exist, there may be some hope for the humans that perhaps one day, they'll return to unify without racial separation, social status, religion and political coagulant.

This is racist and sexist. Listen to "In Time" by Sly & the Family Stone and the Parliament releases 1974-1976 if you don't believe me. Also try explaining how not giving the female vocalists and models credit isn't exploiting the shit out of them. House music wasn't inspired by this kind of trash, it was a rebellion against it.

notrningwheels Concession to what? People get fucked over on album credits all the time, its a real stretch to say its become of some racist/sexist conspiracy . Disco was one of the most inclusive scenes in the history of music but you think its racist? (lol) I Really don't understand this modern obsession with labeling everything as sexist, racist and or homophobic. Its a nonsensical and reminds me of mccarthyism.

itsthatsebguy93 "People get fucked over on album credits all the time, its a real stretch to say its become of some racist/sexist conspiracy" That is a crude generalization. It's actually called 'Dick Fear' and if you are picking music to have sex to it's extremely relevant. I think George Carlin explained it best. "Disco was one of the most inclusive scenes in the history of music but you think it's racist? (lol). Really don't understand this modern obsession with labeling everything as sexist, racist and or homophobic. Its a nonsensical and reminds me of mccarthyism." Studio 54 is generally regarded as the most exclusive club in dance music history. It was inclusive like the Super Bowl. Women, Black, and gay people were being used to promote the clubs and disco albums in order to make rich old white men richer. It's not a conspiracy, it's economic history. The club owners of Studio 54 were very open about this. In a disco documentary they were quoted as comically arguing about how much more the bar would make if they let different people into the club. It's like Facebook. It's free because you are the product that is being sold. Sexism, racism, and homophobia are complicated issues, but I can assure you that McCarthyism is not related.

notrningwheels Dude you're looking for sexism and racism so you find it. Its basic confirmation bias. Just like in 1948 people were looking for communists so they found them. I'm sure i could find homoeroticsm in the works of Beethoven if i went looking for it You are just another brand of moral crusader looking for threats in inconnus things. Like the social conservatives in the 90's that blamed marilyn manson for school shootings. But i'm starting to think i'm being trolled here, because this is just silly. I've been baited by clever trolls before and i'm half sure you are one of them.
