In my opinion this is one of - if not THE - best acted scenes in the entire show. It's insane how much he conveys with just his eyes, he was literally less terrified when Tyrion killed him. All the actors on the show are incredible, but Charles Dance as Tywin is something else, with his mere presence demanding respect at all times. I can't think of another instance where he lost a power struggle and didn't (couldn't) even attempt to regain control, assert his dominance or at the very least appear unfazed. A scared, speechless and defenseless Tywin was amazing to witness. It's like imagining The Hound becoming a motivational speaker or something haha. God I miss the earlier seasons . And if Tyrion hadn’t killed Daddy Lannister, there’s no way Ellaria would’ve killed Myrcella. @@doncorleone9297t's not. The "hints" are that Aerys was attracted to Joana Lannister, took "liberties" during the bedding ceremony and bemoaned that the right of the first night wasn't a thing anymore. "Liberties" probably just means that Aerys got a little too handsy. Had he actually raped Joana, it would have meant war. It also would have meant that Tywin wouldn't have sat out Roberts Rebellion but joined him from the start due to his own desire for revenge - he did love Joana dearly as far as we know. And Tyrion having dragon dreams doesn't prove anything. Dragons are cool and Tyrion, who read a ton about History and Targaryen Rulers as a young boy became fascinated by them. The fact that he now dreams about them when those mythological creatures have been literally reborn into the world just means that he still is fascinated by them. He also wants to become advisor to "the mother of dragons", so it's very reasonable that the topic of dragons occupies his mind. The biggest counter to the Tyrion Targaryen theory is, that it would undermine the tragedy of the Tyrion/Tywin relationship. Tywin doesn't even acknowledge Tyrion as his son, even tho he takes after his father far more than Jaime and Cersei. Everything Tywin despises about Tyrion is a reaction to his horrible parenting and crippling insecurity about being taken seriously. Tywin is essentially responsible for his own death because he never saw his son for who he truly is, his neglect and malice which was born out of nothing but Pride slowly turned Tyrion into the monster everyone always treated him as. All of that would be undermined if Tywin really wasn't his father. “You.. you are no.. no son of mine.” “Now that’s where you’re wrong, Father. Why, I believe I’m you writ small.” That quote (just after Tyrion shot Tywin with the crossbow) basically says it all.

Love the way Tywin would clench his fists like that in nasty moments. Great character trait!

She was so savage for this. Idc if it’s unpopular to think this but Cersei is the best character in game of thrones and I miss her

Well written scene where Tywin wants to say the last word but is too tied up in emotions regarding Jaime and Cersie he has always suppressed to utter a last word.

She’s such a badass and such a good antagonist, crazy how she gets more hate from the fandom (especially males) than characters like Ramsay, Rose, Tywin, The Mountain, Joffrey etc. when she’s not even top 10 when it comes to the most evil characters in that show. Classic misogyny

"I don't believe you" why would she lie to you about something like that? Besides all the blatant facts, a daughter would never lie about that to her father lol

Damn, Tywin was a greatly created character, and what the actor did was astonishing.
