In this video Dr. Joshua Abrams, MD talks about a new artificial disc replacement treatment option for neck pain relief. Dr. Abrams discusses the next generation of artificial disc replacement called the M6. The new disc simulates and accommodates the natural range of motion in your neck. The M6 cervical artificial disc also provides shock absorption that replicates the natural disc of your neck. Candidates that are typically good candidates are patients who fail conservative care and have neck and radiating arm pain. Recovery from an artificial disc is approximately two to six weeks with full recovery at six to eight weeks.
Desert Institute for Spine Care (DISC) is a comprehensive spine care practice with five board-certified and fellowship-trained spine surgeons serving patients in the greater Phoenix, AZ area. Disc specialize in artificial disc replacement in the neck and low back as an alternative to spine fusion surgery for appropriate selective candidates. DISC also is a worldwide leader in endoscopic spine surgery, the least invasive surgical option for back and leg pain caused by a herniated disc, facet joint pain, degenerative disc disease, and sciatica.
