Ceasre Valletti, tenor sings the beloved Italian song "Parlami d'Amore, Mariu.." This is a curious recording indeed. It comes from a private recording done by Vito Records for the New York City night club Chez Vito. An opera lover's dream, Chez Vito was frequented by many well known (and not so well known) opera singers. Perhaps most prolific were "The 3 Musketeers of Opera" (tenor Cesare Valletti, and basses Fernando Corena and Cesare Siepi). This private recording features these three great singers, along with soprano Leyna Gabriele, and the Chez Vito Orchesta in an Italian tour de force of song. The choices are interesting and the arrangements quite unique. And I think this recording, in particular, deserves special mention. Cesare Valletti (December 18, 1922 - May 13, 2000) was a true tenore di grazia with a beautifully elegant and refined voice. There are not many recordings of Valletti singing the popular Italian repertoire and it is very nice indeed to hear him sing this much loved song.
