Great video. Would love to see more with various cruise configs, fuel burn and power settings and just overall flights.

Great video, I was taught on light twins and we never used flaps on takeoff in case you have power issues after take off. Apart from that everything looked good. Love the Skymaster.

Skymaster is a different beast than a conventional twin and he did it correctly (POH calls for 0-1/3 flaps on normal t/o and you'll greatly extend your roll if you don't use flaps). It doesn't have the standard issues in a conventional twin (no VMC) so the additional drag from 1/3 flaps isn't a big deal. The only issue is that you need to keep in mind is that drag increases while the gear cycles so you need to wait a bit longer before retracting the gear.

I’ve been flying and enjoying it but haven’t made any videos flying. I’ve tried but wasn’t happy with the camera or audio. I’ll work out the technical details and start making some videos; hopefully soon.

Dan. If you have foreflight I spent WAY too long doing a virtual one. (I have an NA one, but the check lists look almost identical with the exception of the set pressurization). DM me if you want me to send you the foreflight file.

Why did you lean the engines?
@dr.dansgarage
Жыл бұрын
It’s mostly to reduce plug fouling. The field elevation is about 4000’ and Mike Busch says we should lean while idling and on the ground.

Oh wow I looked at buying this airplane in 2019. drove up to the hangar it was taken apart in. Unfortunately he wanted too much money for an airplane we would have to continue to disassemble and truck out of there. glad to see its back together! If your still missing the early logbooks, my dad knows where they are!

Yeah it took a fair amount of work and $ to get it back together. It did fly out of there eventually.
