For a few topics Mark goes full Jordan Peterson in finance, saying things are not easy or convenient to say or hear, but we all need to say and hear.

Not sure what you found in Jordan Peterson's ideas that falls under that description or is profound in any way. Putting his name next to Mark's is more of a jab at the latter imho.

I passed lv.1 in nov last year, there's no point in cramming anything in that short time. Stop studying around 8pm the day before. Anything after that won't help much.

Professor, although the Q&A has already passed, but it will be very useful for me to know your answer to my question. I am preparing for lvl2 with the cfai curriculum and your videos, initially I read the entire topic in the book, marking important things for my notes, after reading, I re-go through the highlighted in the book creating my personal notes, but it takes a lot of effort and time. I'm not just mindlessly copying, I think about it and create a structure, as you have in your notes. In 5 hours of work, if I go through 10-13 pages of the book by creating my own structure/notes, this is a very good day for me, because sometimes there is a lot of text in the book. It is important for me to know, did you also take a lot of time and effort to create your own structure/notes for cfai books, or is it just me?

Hi Dr. Meldrum, I am trying to refine my learning methodology as a working candidate in order to maximize my time. You had an old video on YT about working candidates many years ago, do you have any similar resources now or a recommendation as to where I can find some? Thanks!

It's not that complex. You just need to study 2 hrs per day on the weekdays and 4-6hrs on weekends. Do that throughout the prep period and you'll clear the exam.

@@adityajoshi7465 That's a system but not a technique. I already follow those hours but only reading theory would be inefficient. I want to improve my efficiency.

@@za_sNse i can share what helped me. Watch the lectures on a particular chapter, do the relevant EOCs, and move on to the next. After completing a subject, let's say fixed income, revise the key concepts through schweser end of chapter summaries and then solve the cfai qbank on the portal. Repeat it for all subjects. After 1st round, watch review videos and solve marked ques. Towards the end, do some mocks and in the last few days memorize the formulae and double down on ethics (i listened to mark's ethics lectures 3 times and solved ethics qbank twice)
