Many people with cfs/me also have mcas, histamine intolerance and interstitial cystitis. this could make mcas folks incredibly ill, with mcas these foods can cause life threatening reactions. IC they can cause flares. Not being negative, just advocating and informing people in case they get sick.

This is true, I have MCAS but I find that a good probiotic causes me no issue. I use Symprove and I hope I can get onto fermented foods as my gut heals safely from MCAS friendly biotics.

This has also been my experience (but not to a life-threatening degree). Histamine can also trigger migraines. It took me YEARS to recognize that I was adding to my problems by trying to follow advice to drink kombucha, eat fermented veggies, and add apple cider vinegar to water. Last summer, I reached a point where I had improved a lot and felt optimistic I was truly on the road to recovery. One cup of bone broth set me back MONTHS in terms of progress. I just saw an allergist who is knowledgeable on mast cells and finally made sense of my seemingly random symptoms over the years.

I didn't know where to put this so here it is :). I want to have your level of cleanliness. I am not diagnosed with CFS and if I have it it's mild. I do suffer with PEM and what I am learning from you is extremely valuable. I have your book, and I am incorporating the ten marbles, journalling, and pacing. I don't know if it would be super helpful because I have a feeling that you are naturally tidy, but I would love a video on house work and cfs. I have improved a lot this year and having an uncluttered environment is very helpful. But I think that if my kitchen was as tidy and clean as yours my health would improve. I'm even lucky because my husband does dishes and the messes I deal with are 99.9% all me. thanks :)

Hey Amanda! I'm sorry to hear about your health challenges 💛 I'm with you, I also feel that with uncluttered surroundings that my mind is less cluttered too. Of course I make things extra tidy though before I record a video, things aren't always quite this neat! Plus I have hired a cleaner that comes a couple times a month, which also helps tons. And yes, I've always been a bit obsessed with things being orderly so I think it's just an ingrained part of my personality. It's an interesting video topic suggestion, thanks and I will keep it in mind!

Thank you so much for these tips, Raelan. Will definitely try it out. I have advertised for your channel on a Facebook-page for ME-patients in the Nordic region of Europe. Hopefully that way more ME-sufferes can get acquainted with your your experiences. Have a lovely xmas and a great 2021 - and stay well and safe. 🙏🙂🕯☃️🎄

I’ve been taking a probiotic pill from New Rhythm for maybe two years now. It’s helped tremendously with my IBS, but I can’t say it’s had any other noticeable benefits. It wouldn’t hurt to also try more fermented foods and see if they make a difference.

Thanks for another great video. I love these video's in which you break down a certain therapy/technique and in which you combine theory by an expert and your own experience. Very helpful! I am already working on my gut health by using probiotics, but I am inspired to start making my own kombucha this week because of this video :D. Thanks Raelan!

I know I have been slacking on making further process on my healing and (I had just taken my probiotic pill before watching this and often wondered if it was doing anything) I think this video was just what I needed to add another healthy practice to my routine. I can totally add a glass of kefir and ginger kombucha to my diet. Sauerkraut has always been a hard one for me because I do not like it but I can handle a bite or two every couple days if it will help. This was the perfect length video on gut health , for me at least, because it's a topic that I don't fully understand but you made it easy to understand for me to at least want to dip my toes back into the fermented pool. The same thing that happened to me last March has started to happen again and it's when I start to feel a little better I start working way too much and I'm not as mindful with my habits. Then I saw your video this morning and had the choice to click on it and learn something that was going to benefit me or choose something less educating and I'm glad I chose your video. Namaste

I’ve been getting into fermenting after years of foraging. I learned about fermented tea (just the leaves of my foraged plants). I dried them at a low temp to dry them. I should make some kombucha using the powder and the local honey I have. But have you tried foraging? Our cultivated foods have less and less nutrients as the years advance so you need to supplement with foods that aren’t farm grown for consumption. It’s fall so that can be as easy as finding a wild fruit tree. Now that I think about it you probably can go to an older orchard and get some heritage fruits. But there are so many fruits I never knew existed! Like Autumn olives. They have the highest level of lycopene of any plant in the world - and it’s highly invasive so pick it all! There is a documentary uploaded to KZitem that I think is just called Seeds about how cultivation has killed diversity and robbed us of nutrients. It was so freaking sad but informative.

2 years ago, i was making my own kefir paleo-keto, buying my veg from local farms with soil attached. We ALSO need good bacteria from the soil too. Ive been thinking along these lines again, as it's something ive been neglecting. I tried making kefir with the leftover probiotic pills the other week n tasted foul XD I find it difficult to gauge how much to make. i used 1 litre coconut milk cartons as even yoghurt n butter affect me.

I made my own kombucha for a while... until I came to know that the scoby was just yeast... no prebiotic, just yeast, and it made my gut worse. You need to ferment veggies, things with lactobicilis, not tea.

This is not such a good advise for a lot of people with ME. Because a lot of us have MCAS and will get very sick from fermented foods. I tried and failed so many times before I understood that I couldn't eat foods with histamine. It wasn't always like that. Since my cindition worsened in 2019, I developed MCAS. I've had ME since 2015 (post viral).
