I've finally managed to get the CGE pro & RASA in the observatory & operational, I really wanted to add a first light video with the set up but sadly the weather has been pretty poor lately so that will happen when I finally get a clear sky. I had to drill the pier adapter so it fitted my home made pier, I wasn't keen on doing it but had no choice really. I had to do the same with my previous pier adapter which didn't go to well so I got a cheap drill press from Amazon & fitted my electric drill to it. I have to say it did make it a better job to do & the hole I drilled was much straighter & true although I wouldn't call it a quality piece of kit.
Bolting everything up took some doing especially lifting the mount up as its unwieldy & heavy I like to think of it as an EQ5 pro on steroids the mount head alone weighs in at 34KG.
I did manage to capture the aurora in the early hours of the 24th I had gone to bed by then thinking there would be no way I'd see it & it were getting late so just popped a DSLR in the window & left it running, pretty happy the camera caught it shame I weren't there to see it for myself though.
