Based on Chapter 5 in Bowles and Halliday (2022), we specify one way in which to think about repeated interactions where there is a stage game and a probability of the game continuing. This permits us to understand how people may play if they believe there is a probability with which the game will continue.
Note for instructors: We are not using a mode with discounting. Although that is reasonable, we use probabilities often in the course and we recommend that instructors economize on the topics that they need to cover. Though one can get other insights from discounting we wanted to use tools students already know and understand rather than introducing new ideas.
