A very old and rare recording of Shri Ramesh Baba (a prominent saint of Barsana and a very old devotee of Shri Maharaj Ji) sings a beautiful padh composed by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj. English translation provided below. (Photo- Shri Maharaj Ji and Ramesh Baba in Delhi, 1956)
chandu mana jaga mrigjala ki aas
(O Mind! Abandon all hopes of attaining bliss from this mirage called the world)
mrigajala piyata amita yuga beete, tau bhujhi nahi pyaas
(You have been drinking the water of this mirage in the form of sense-objects for countless ages, but your thirst has still not been quenched)
santana charan sharan nahi ayo, jahan surasari ko vaas
(You have not taken shelter of the lotus feet of the Saints, which are considered the abode of the sacred River Ganga (which washes away sins))
indrina vishtha-vishaya narak mahan, kiyo vaas bani daas
(Rather, you have chosen to live in the hell of filthy sense-objects, totally enslaved by them)
deen bhav nishkaam shyam bhaju, karu sadguru vishvaas
(Now, in a humble state of mind, practice selfless devotion to Shyamsundar, having full faith in your Guru)
tehi binu mana 'kripalu' gahi boondana, chaahata chadhana akaas
(Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj says, "If you do not do this, attempting to fulfil your desire for bliss in this world, is as futile as trying to climb up using raindrops falling down from the clouds, to reach the sky!"
