I recently watched a youtube clip that showed Trudeau having supper with reportedly Natives in Canada. One comment under the clip said the Natives gave Trudeau a souvenir granting him the title of Walking Eagle*. I factchecked this native title. It means an eagle that is so full of sh** it can't fly. 😂 *Subsequent searches indicate the term wasn't related to the Natives. But its meaning remains the same. It still fits Trudeau nicely.

In the UK, rail nationalization is being discussed because train services are stupidly fragmented and fares are stupidly expensive. Water nationalization is being discussed because controls are lax and there have been several sewage dischage scandals recently. Everything discussed by Labour is done for a reason, due to recent developments and with some public mandate, not just because Labour is left-leaning. After Corbin, Starmer is now very careful to appear centrist. You are right in that Labour can and likely will easily screw up, not least because of the mess they inherited. But they are also well aware of that. (Edit: Apparently Labour is not talking about water nationalization, but more forceful controls on the water companies.)
