So they are two different scool bands!! I admit I am a big Tachibana SHS band fan, but seeing that two "opponent" schools can play together, having the same style, moves my soul to joy!!💓
Translating the title: Izumo Business Highschool Band + Kyoto Tachibana Highschool Band. 2018 Kyoto Sakura Parade Courtesy Concert. (If others like me was wondering who were the ones in Purple.)

5:57 Mr. Tanaka introduced as follows: Hello. I'm an adviser of a band (Tachibana) that came out later. Let's applaud the Izumo Business (High School Wind Orchestra). They have been visiting our school for the last 10 years. That led them to start marching activities. And they decided to prepare a uniform also. It may be similar uniforms, are you sure? they asked. I answered OK, but I didn't think it was so similar. It's a school like relatives. Both schools practiced together this morning too. Now Tachibana plays a familiar song. Let's enjoy the song. Then privately, I have to say goodbye to everyone in Kyoto today. I will retire. The last performance with the students, so it will be full of memories. Thank you very much for 23 years. Would you please continue to support the students in the future.

I love this band. I can remember having to run and play my trumpet at the same time, I seem to recall how difficult and challenging to do that. i can only imagine the challenge that these kids have in doing their performances, they are outstanding.

The more you start watching these videos the more bands you discover, if you haven't already seen them I'd also recommend Takefu Commercial, Hokkaido SIT, and Onishi high school. There's many more out there to send you down countless KZitem rabbit holes. Izumo are considered the 'sister' school to Tachibana as they approached them for help and guidance when they set up their marching band (they are quite a new band) and to ask them for permission to carry out their signature dance style of marching.

@@stevewhite1849 I believe in 1975 they would have had a significantly different style; their current style really stems from the early 2000's and has gotten refined over time.
When Izumo play their wonderful music and you add Tachibana HSB you have the 2 top HSB in Kyoto playing together what an incredible combination of such excellent musical skills between the two bands. Both schools must be very proud of their students. The colour guards are super girls and add great energy to the group. From Dublin Ireland

One of the big attractive point of Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band is their smiles. However, around the time when Mr. Tanaka gave his retirement speech(7:03 ~), I was deeply touched by the sight of some of the students crying but still somehow holding back while performing. Mr.Tanaka made a retirement speech as follows. "Excuse me, this is a private matter, but I will be retiring, so I will say goodbye to all of you today. Today's performance is my last performance with my students. Thank you very much for 23 years. Thank you for your continued support of our students."
