Do you have more of these old school videos to upload? Please upload them, they're educational and the nostalgia is deeply comforting haha.. . . And the banter was real when they hooked that first fish - wicked funny how bothered he was

25:27 I am a firm believer in scents. It doesn't always work in the situation though. I have noticed that where our urban river mixes with our saltwater estuary, the garlic flavored chartreuse dye isn't effective. In these conditions Berkley power scented or Keitech squid scented products do better. In our reservoirs, the salty baits like Roboworms and GYBs to better.

These videos truly make me happy! This brings back sat and sun mornings when I was a little girl. God I wish you had episodes of "The bass class" with Denny. And one more cast with hank parker.

Doug Hannon said that when the wind is blowing, like Chad said, the plankton gets blown in same direction as the wind is blowing, so the bait fish swim after it. One thing Doug said was to fish into the wind for more bites. It is harder to do, but if your bait is swimming the same direction as the bait fish, and not the opposite direction, it looks more "natural", there's that word again, to the bass chasing the bait fish.

I don't believe for a second that scent is going to get me a bite- but I do think it can get the fish to hold on a second or two longer or to commit after a test bite, so I use it. That said- I will only use two scents- either Berkley max scent or JJ's Magic, because they're the only two I've ever personally witnessed to work. I'm sure others do too, but I like to stick with what I know. I hear Bait Fuel works exceptionally well- someone I trust a great deal helped test it- and he swears it works. And I happen to know for a fact that this guy didn't believe in scent generally speaking before he used this stuff. He not only says it works in that it makes them hold on longer- he swears it gets him bites he wouldn't have otherwise gotten. My question is- how can you possibly prove that? I believe he really believes it- I have no doubt of that, but I really can't see how you could prove that conclusively or anything. Unless you can speak bass- I don't think you can know. And even then- I'd probably catch some smart ass with a bad attitude who refused to talk.

Some companies say they have done studies on it but I think thats all marketing bs. SALT is where my confidence is in. In cold water it can be hard to get a bass to hold on to a swimbait you are dragging on the bottom. But if its loaded with salt they definitely hold it longer.

Go fishing with him, one uses scent and the other doesn't and switch up a couple of times and after a few trips you'll have a concensus between you as to whether it makes a difference
