the video is great. but there are two concerns in your video. 1. never clean you chain by putting your engine in running condition. it will lead to fatal accidents. 2. you are spraying the chain lube more than required which results in attracting more dirt.
@thesportztourer
6 жыл бұрын
Hi Prithviraj, Totally agree with your 2 points, I did rectify it in the separate video made for Dominar. I know sometimes I become too generous in showing my love towards bikes & tend to over spray 😁 one good thing about Motul C2 is that it doesn't attracts much dirt/dust as compared to others. Thanks a lot for taking time & puting down these inputs, it will be definitely useful to riders coming to the comment section for additional information 👍

Its a joy to know that the video has helped a rider. I keep on experimenting with different chain lubes like TVS, Wurth, Motul, Waxpol, Rolon, OKS etc all of them work fine till the you are regular with chain maintenance. Some chain lubes like TVS, Rolon etc can be less sticky and spill around but that won't be a big compromise in terms of lubrication.

Do you think diesel is best to remove dirt from the chain and other parts?
@thesportztourer
6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Chemically diesel is one of the best degreaser with good solubility & lower volatile nature, which helps to drain the dirt deposits from the chain link. Flash point of diesel is high enough to make it safe to use it on chain (any way we clean the residue) and it doesn't ignites with spark/static. Only thing that should of concern is the oxidation rate of a degreaser which very slow in case of diesel (but present) so it necessary that we wipe out the residue diesel. Being a strong degreaser it cleans thoroughly but we should always take care that latter the chain links are lubed propertly. However in cold countries where temperature reaches lower than 0 deg C, diesel fails to act as degreaser as it has a tendency to turn into jelly state when stored in open (non insulated/iso-thermal way). In such case citrus based degreaser are used. So for cleaning chain it's good 👍

Hi +aditya tomar, At first I would suggest you to clean the chain & sprocket thoroughly then lubricate it. Adjust the chain if needed. A new chain sprocket set should cost around 2000-2500 this is my estimate, have to confirm. You can call on TVS PARTS ON CALL number to confirm.

Can we use petrol for chain cleaning as it will dry out fast compared to diesel. Will the royal enfield chain lube do well in apache 200
@thesportztourer
7 жыл бұрын
Hi +yaiphu akhakpa, You can use petrol, earlier it was said that petrol might effect the seals on o ring but latter studies found it to be a myth. Only problem with petrol is that it dries out very fast, so instead of draining out the dirt & slug it again leaves them back on the chain. You can use excess of petrol but that might not be cost effective. You can use the Royal Enfield chain lube it will work efficiently on the 200 👍 Ride safe.
