I have to admit that I was frustrated with the pace of the video a few minutes in, but in the end, your guidance solved my issue. Thank you, thank you! The pull cord had gotten tangled up making it impossible to pull, even though I had just used the saw and shut it off normally.

I got a 200t seized up A bit of wd40 and time Just letting it soak and lightly moving the crank back and forth About 3 hours into it, she rolls over nicely, and great compression

Just make sure you get the wd40 out before you crank it up. It can ruin you're piston if you try running it on wd40

@JustinCglass yeah I kinda figured. You think piston all slashed up Along with the ring and cylinder. Or something worse. It's a 1997 husqvarna h350 so might not be worth it. But is my dad so might be. It's pretty mint other than what I fried.

So my buddy ran his chainsaw way to lean and the piston froze up. He squirted mixed gas in it and it started moving again but won't start now. It was starting in 3 pulls before. Did he ruin the saw. I'm asking for a freind.

Hey man great video and great idea for a channel you should really pump out some content and explain diagnostics and how the parts of the engine function / stopped functioning and you will have a bunch of subscribers in no time. Post your stuff to reddit, good deal.

Who the hell were these engineers that set up a system internally like this on the original models?? My machine won't turn the bar at all, and I checked the plastic handle lock thingy! I smell smoke coming from the gear deep inside when I get it running, I can't figure it. I'll never buy another Poulan, this one is about 3 mins away from the trash. Idk, if I have the knowledge to do an entire breakdown of this PC. Of sheit? For $300 I can get an awesome, refurbished Husqavarna I do believe. This Po ulan is engineered garbage. Never again, I've used it maybe 7 times over 10 yrs

Buying a Poulan wouldn't be something I would suggest to anyone. If you smell something like smoke or a burning smell, it's most like the clutch or a stuck oiler.

I notice this video is 3 years old, but maybe someone still checks it out, I have a stihl 039 I’m working on for a customer and the piston is hitting the spark plug, I’m using the recommended plugs, any suggestions?

The problem with my chainsaw was that it was stored incorrectly on it's side. The lower end was full of oil from the bar lubricator. Had to spray WD40 into the exaust to thin and drain it.

I know to do the mixer 50:1 but yes I rushed through and did end up putting just straight gas in it
@fixinstuff4374

Yeah unfortunately, the chainsaw is no longer usable with the piston seized. Depending on the type/model of the saw you could repair it/have it repaired. But if it's a cheaper saw like a ms170, I'd suggest selling for parts.

What a strange initial diagnosis ... that it might be siezed instead of first suspecting it was most probably the starter. Would some people seriously throw it away without checking the pull starter??? Wtf.

@@fixinstuff4374 I drained as much water and gas. I cranked it with the spark plug off and water shot out the cylinder. It's not seized. It was in a hurricane back in 2017 and it sat for years till I finally looked into it. I know I shouldn't have waited that long. It's a low end gas craftsman. Not sure if it's even worth taking it to a engine shop. Thanks for the reply though.
