I've been around the Music Industry for over 40 years and, I've heard so many people ask, why do so many people in the industry or affiliated, have a drug problem. Well, I was back stage, after parties, in the studio, etc. The drug dealers bring drugs to them and people would line up to get high, it's every where, back in the day and now. Now, getting to Chaka:s background singers, which she only hires singers that can sing and sound similar to her, that's because in concert, they take a lot of singing off of her. Chaka really enjoys singing, however she has been doing it for over 50 years and she gets tired. She's often said "She wish that, she could Clone herself". Take care. ❤️☮️💋

Everyone drank and the cocaine evens it out so you can drink some more. They didn't card you back then if you rolled in with the big dogs. And the first time was in the Lenox lounge, Small's Paradise that cocaine was free in a bowl at the end of the bar 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I wasn't into chemicals, but if I got a little drunk I'd hit it, to bring myself back up to sober.

@@allen6924 A lot of people used, but not "everyone." I know you didn't mean that literally, but words are important, and that "everyone" defense has been used by addicts since the year of the flood to defend drug use. Are you still taking a bit after getting too tipsy?
@nena_gz

@@allen6924 I completely understand. Life was very different before the "Just say no to drugs" propaganda began. Back when an std was cured with a doctor's needle on Monday morning not the aids epidemic death sentence. Before addiction/rehab was a household term and most wild nights could be productive mornings at your day job thanks to cocaine. I've studied history, I listened to elders talk about it and I get it. I am also a musician who has walked out of the recording studio when the candy bowls went around. Lost gigs and friendships over it bc I didn't get down like that. So I totally get it. Now could I walk out on my musical shero if SHE demanded it ??? 🤦🏾🤷🏾💁🏾 I'm not gonna swear to that one, lol. Especially if it was back before drug use was a well known problem aka the 70s and 80s???
