If you missing some spicy food, maybe try looking for an authentic Hungarian restaurant. I dunno if any other nations food in Europe comes close to what Indians prefer. Otherwise go visit the asia markets, those should have some spice mixes that should satisfy your cravings! :D

Spices. I lived my hole live in Germany and never liked pepper, till my parents were on vacation in Iran and brought some spices back home. Now I know how good pepper could taste and like the crap you can buy here even less.

You choose to life between Nordsee and Ostsee. I was born in Schleswig Holstein and its always cold there , pretty much so. Niedersachsen is usualy 3-5 Degrees Celsius more. So if you drive to like to Hannover you will notice the difference . Now I life in Rheinland-Pfalz and met someone fresh from Afghanistan who said , its to hot here . I could not believe him and asked if he was serious. He explained , the humidity is way higher here. A year later we had a first time record of 40 Celsius and that’s then I missed Schleswig Holstein a lot. :)

Some call it plain and other's would call that actual knowledge of cooking. It's easy to drown everything in spices to make it taste somewhat. If you only use the ingredients and use as little as possible salt and pepper and the proper accompanying spice, you'll actually taste the ingredients, not only spices. You have your palak's and you still don't know what spinache actually tastes like?
