Sadly all SPAC sponsored by his firm has done terribly and investors have lost lots of money. Also investors were led to believe companies his VC firm were launching via SPAC would be disruptive and on the right side of innovation.

He is such a negative inspiration to people. Its very easy to notice the egoistic and narcissistic and wanting the be the smartest man on the room speaking so loudly through his veins. This is the first time I am hearing him speak but he exists so that I can point to people and say - 'don't be that person'. Thank you for bringing in diverse guests on your show.

The Pied Piper of SPACS in The New Yorker is another good article on him. I think Buffett will be safe for a long while. Reminds me of Buffett's comment " When the tide goes down you know who has been swimming naked". There will be lot of stranded naked swimmers when this bubble burst.

Such an atom bomb of a quote: A company with mediocre people and a great product will always triumph over a company with a mediocre product and great people. If you have a great product, that team has put their biases to the sideline, either by listening or intuition snd invention, an ability to creat some level of product-market-fit that is ultimately able to give this customers something they need/want. That level of obsession may manifest in a group that may seem rude, but to the market they are incredible. A company is a for-profit expression of intellect. Things that belong in a social club or a family that are misplaced in an office, under a collective can’t win. Winning is suppressing bias to allocate capital to the product.

If some people do not want to listen hey it's your computer, tablet , phone how about you touch the mute button or even turn it off. But I will tell you even if you don't like him there might be something you could learn that could be used to impact your life in a positive way. Look for good in people and stop being so negative.

Chamath is not a value investor, why is building another Berkshire? Buffet learned to pivot from cigar butt to growth company, but his entire focus has never deviated from company’s cash flow. Even with apple, he did not even invest until 2016. Why? value investors are so misused in these days.

The interview is good but his take on Buddhism in Sri Lanka is completely wrong. It is not a selfish religion. It cares a lot about others. It would be interesting to see whether he has provided any help or funds to his motherland when the country needs it most now with the current Covid crisis before criticizing Buddhism. I know he has said this in the past but he has portrayed his family as political victims in the past where a journalist has questioned the statement. He comes from the majority Sinhalese Buddhist community with no necessity for political asylum so that statement needs to be examined rigorously as to why his father sought political asylum in Canada when the true motive could have been economic asylum. He also doesn't seem to give much credit to Canada where he grew up.

@@theonomist2908 You don't have to buy in. If the price is right buy in and if the price is wrong get another stock. I am retail but I at least come up with a vague price target based on either fundamentals or growth. Take Clover Health a risky stock hated by Wall Street. If you buy in at 15 you could lose allot in the short term but if you bought in at 8 dollars the upside outweighs the risk. Chamath is not your friend but you could make money off of his companies.

@jeremymeyer5552

Due to overpopulation and a dependence on rural agriculture China has always had issues with poverty. However communists in China destroyed the middle class. So out of those 800 million probably 1/5 should have never been there in the first place. Ironically having a dictatorship allows you to control financial resources unlike America where a divided congress blocks progress.
@bobmorane4926

@@jeremymeyer5552 Controlling the financial resources to pull 800 million pp out of poverty is a great thing which proves a dictatorship the Chinese way is a superior system to the American system that will bicker tooth and nail over healthcare but both parties would agree in a heartbeat to fork over billions to the military or Israel instead of the poor folks or sick folks of Murica !!!
