I remember this being my theme song while I was suffering depression and self-harm. Now, six months after I broke my addiction, I look back at this song and feel a sense of pride. To everyone out there struggling with an addiction, whether it be heroin, self-injury, alcohol, etcetera, know that you're not alone. There are people who care about you. I learned that the hard way. Things may look hopeless right now, but there is always hope. Remember that. God bless, y'all.

They do have someone. God loves His children, no matter what they're going through. And I stand firm to the fact that my God was involved. I'm not ashamed to proudly declare myself as a Pentecostal.

This song strikes me on so many levels, I am so used to being the chameleon bruised, battered, torn and hurt but blending so well with my surroundings. It hurts the most to know I am only hiding from myself keeping myself from happiness, making excuses and reasons why. How exactly does one go about staying the same color all the time? I love this song to death, but I hate how the lyrics describe word for word why I keep ending up here.

The hardest part about addiction is we can stare our demons right in the face and know we dont need them, know we dont want them, know they are destroying us mentally and physically and leaving deep scars on those closest to us.... yet we cant find the inner strength to just make the right decision to make a better decision to make what should be the only decision is and walk away.

I always seem to come back to this song. I listened to this on repeat for about a month or two. At the time I was dealing with some of the worst episodes I've ever had with my bouts of depression and schizophrenia. It's been a long road, and I still need some repairs, but this song always helps me through it. No matter what ♡

I always come back, I can only stay away for so long. I seem to find comfort here. Its like one of those songs that really make me be honest with myself and my self analysis. It allows me to identify all the things that are wrong with my thought processor and behaviors and be honest with myself. I dont believe my issue is a lack of medication, more of a lack of self control and self esteem. I fall into patterns I cant break, because my flesh is weak. Some days are better than other :/

djmatteo1979 Wow, you're def not alone my friend, and I relate to this song so much just like you. Your words are like they were pulled outta my head! I'm so serious its freaky! I find so much comfort in this song, knowing I'm not the only one who feels like this and I dont feel so alone. Justin is my inspiration, knowing he's had the same struggles but pulled himself out of it, it gives me hope.

My dad just passed away and my whole life was spent trying to help him through his addictions. I need to know how to separate myself from this intense amount of guilt I feel for not being enough. 21 years with a man who made my life less empty. If only he could have seen himself through my eyes. He was my angel who chose to be my dad when he was 17 when another man walked out on us.

Hey there, I hate to say it, and its really difficult to accept, but the only person who can help another with an addiction is the person themselves. If the person really wants to stop, then they can, and will seek a way. There are plenty of places around which supports families of those who have a drugs or drink problem, as its not only the addicted which are affected. If your husband wishes to stop there's many places who will allow him to have a stable detox - such as Turning Point.
