Champanath Temple is dedicated to champanath mahadev the presiding deity of present champeswar town in narasinghpur block of cuttack district.
It's believed to be built around 8th to 9th century by the rulers of bhaumakar dynasty.
In the temple premise you will see multiple small temples apart from the main temple decorated in same color, which looks quite unique. There is a pond next to the temple where you can see big sized turtles from close distance, which are leaving there peacefully from a long time.
On 14th march 2021, we had opportunity to visit this temple, just about 200 meters from athagarh - narasinghpur state highway 56. It's also just next to the chowk to cuttack district's popular waterfall deojhar and dabarkhol. So, must visit if you are coming to this side.
Other near by attractions are
- Deojhar Waterfall
- Dabarkhol Waterfall
- Maa bhattarika temple
- Singhanath temple
- Budha budhi ghat
