This is such a wonderful circuit, and it's a great piece of driving from Power. It would be awesome to see Formula One cars have a blast around here. We can dream, right?

won't happen now, they built over the track with a tram line (that is really poorly used)

Way too bumpy probably and the track width is too small - I know the v8's are the ones that mostly use this now but I think them and Champcar/Indycar are more lenient with it - F1 is just OCD when it comes to street circuits...

+venomau5speedz there has been some talk about bringing it back next year and by adding a temporary surface over the tram lines, which can be taken on and off. This is by far the best street track ever the commitment is amazing
@alfsgtv1

I don't see how that is possible...the section of asphalt after the 2nd chicane has been reduced to one car width in certain places. Besides that, No way they could race there anymore with the tram stops and power poles running in the middle.

And he now trails Mario Andretti for all-time pole positions. What a class act. 56 poles and counting. Penske made an amazing choice with Will Power. 2014 series champion and defending Indy 500 winner.

There’s something so unnerving about the way those champ cars handled. They look like they’re gonna grip up on understeer and spit the rear into the barrier

Oriol Servià, driving a car for PKV this weekend, nipped local hero Will Power on Friday, snagging the provisional pole position by .033 seconds and locking in a front row starting spot for Sunday's race. Power got revenge on Saturday when he broke the Surfers Paradise track record in winning his fourth pole position of the season by .372 seconds. (1:30.054 in the end)
