Flexible yes, balanced yes. Powerful, no way of knowing by looking at this clip. Also most of what he showed were exercises rather than combat combinations.

It's actually part of a series he participated in during the late 90s called "Living Legends of Kung Fu" There was a Vol. 1 and a Vol. 2, Chan Poi was in Vol. 1 if you can find it.

Vol. 1 is Chan Poi and Brendan Lai only. They each appear for about 30 minutes.

does wah lum have a tan tui set or is it just mixed into the system's other forms?

Not really. It was never available on DVD, only VHS and finding that one is rare. I basically had to create a digital copy and then rip and edit that just to produce this two minute clip. If you are are really interested, I did create a DVD+R of both Vol 1 and Vol 2 and I'd be willing to sell you a copy. You can email me at: Steyr808@yahoo.com for details.

Sijo implies that he is a founder of a system. Northern Praying Mantis normally does not have any of the flexible techniques that GM Chan Pui typically exhibits. It is just that he has such flexibility that he always shows it in his public exhibitions. That is really what everyone is applauding.
