On December 16, 2019, the railroad crossing on Narutowicza Street in Grudziądz was closed forever. Safety tests previously carried out here have shown that this railroad crossing is dangerous and that its category needs to be changed. Previously there was category B (railroad crossing with automatic gates), and now there is category E (pedestrian crossing).
In other news that I read, the City Road Administrator (Zarząd Dróg Miejskich) said that in the near future there will be a renovation of Chełmińska Street (the street adjacent to the railroad crossing), which would also involve the liquidation of the railroad crossing. It was decided to do it earlier.
Devices with automation were installed in the mid-90's. The signals have already been replaced here twice, first from EHZ-32 to SDPK, then to SD-1M. The acoustic signal has also been changed twice:
from the KLD-4013 mechanical bell for the KBB-6 buzzer, then the KLD-4103 e-bell.
The gates have probably been replaced once, from the JEGD-50 to JEG-6 type.
When changing categories, four new signals were installed. One pair of these signals is brand new, and the other modified from EHZ-77 signals which is noticeable after the holes in the masts remaining after the screws.
At the beginning, two EHL loudspeakers were supposed to be an acoustic signal, but a few days before starting the devices on the newly built pedestrian crossing, one of the loudspeakers was changed to EHF type.
