You should also check the vents and vent tube to make sure the axle is correctly equalizing the pressure with temperature changes. If the vents are blocked this causes the oil to foam and loses its ability to lubricate. Nothing worse than replacing a 1500 dollar differential over a 5 dollar part. Oil foaming and loss of oil are the main lubrication related failures of differentials.

according to the frieghtliner manual book its every 500,000 miles or every 4 years for oil change interval for it or more often if the axle is exposed to high temperatures & steep grades. whatever the hell that means maybe it means going up alot of steep hills idk. check oil level every 300,000 miles gonna do that this weekend to make sure it's not low.

Hello Vic, I'm having some problems with my fuel, the truck is smoking and runs slightly rough, the engine no longer reaches redline when on the highway in the highest gear so I've lost a little bit of power, the truck when started after sitting a couple hours has a very slightly slower RPM than usual but within a minute it comes up to normal RPM, the smoke color is blue sometimes, sometimes light grey and sometimes dark dark grey, the engine burns no oil or water at all. Would you say it's the injection timing that is most likely wrong?? However the engine starts right up on the first tumble.
@vicmed6088
6 жыл бұрын
i would say,instead of us guessing what the problem is,just take the truck to a shop,have them put the computer on it,because this is one of those situation that you dont want to start guessing what the problem is,if you start getting advice from people you are going to spend alot of money,do it right and have a mechanic put it on a computer,good luck
