Thanks for all your help on this. I ended up putting the oil back in through the side axle. The air plug was taking way too long when I tried it. I’ll keep checking for leaks. Atleast for now I have a new pan gasket and fresh oil. How come there’s no gasket on the side of the motor?
@HeyHeyHey97

On the newer carts they make an imput shaft seal. On one like you have their is an o ring under the input shaft bearing. Which is the shaft that comes out rear end and the motor sits on.

I have a 2016 Jacobsen MS-E Truckster 72V and it states in the manual for a optional limited slip. I've also confirmed with Jacobesen and EZGo parts dealer for this part. I purchased the 614756 limited slip for it and it doesn't fit. Have you guys done any installs like this and had the same problem. @@liddell157 on the mid 90s and early 2000s everything is 80w 90. The newer stuff is a 30 weight oil but we always use 80/90 because of newer stuff seems to have a little bit of gear noise

Now when you say input shaft. I take that as the rear end input shaft? All you have to do is pull the rear clutch off. And then you can get to the seal If it’s a Kawasaki engine you will need a clutch puller.

Hi. Great video. I have a 2014 EZGO RxV electric golf cart. I noticed the other day there’s some leaking around the pan that you removed. Is the leaking usually due to the gasket? I’ve had the cart for one year. I have no idea if the place who refurbished it ever changed the differential oil. What type of oil does it use and where is the actual oil fill plug?
@HeyHeyHey97
5 жыл бұрын
In order to put oil back in it. You have to jack up the cart and pull the tire off and then pull the axle out and put in that way... A 2014 version of the owners manual now states 25oz Mobilube 85w-140 plus 2oz of friction modifier.

Or before i have took the vent out the driver side axle and put it in that way. It takes longer but it works. Make sure it is not leaking from the input shaft ..which is where the motor sits on....

Christy Wells I’m having trouble figuring out where it’s leaking from. It looks like possibly 2 leaks. One is from the gasket on the bottom, but also looks like it might be leaking on the side where the ac motor is screwed in.

So do you have to do all that if you’re simply wanting to drain & refill the Differential gear oil or were you replacing a leaking gasket in this video? Also, you say to refill the differential thru the same hole it drains from; how do you do that when it drains out the bottom?
@HeyHeyHey97
3 жыл бұрын
Yes to get all the oil out you need to take off the pan. Then you need to use rtv gasket maker for the gasket. It takes 12 ounces of oil.. then put oil in the pan before you put back on. Or once you get the cover back on. You can squirt it back in the hole of bottom of pan.
