It's interesting that you have to move the projector, rather than it being on a track. The Lamp house basically is the same as any Xenon Lamp house (non GT) . Loved the video. Thank you.

This particular projector is on a manual track but sets on pedestals to keep from moving while the movies are playing. I appreciate the love :)

@@manojkonar3969yes off course. No problem. Lots of cinemas just threw them out because of the digitalisation.

@@mathiscoenen9633 how complicated would it be to make a 70mm projector, I mean it's only a projector lamp, plumbing for cooling, bunch of rotors and a lens, right? When I have enough money I will try to design one and make it in reality

@@manojkonar3969 ever heard of the Geneva Cross? Not really possible to make it from scratch without losses during operation.
@KingdaToro

@@mathiscoenen9633 IMAX projectors don't even use a Geneva cross. They use a rolling loop system instead, which is much gentler on the film but more complex and requires compressed air to form the film into a loop. In fact, the compressed air is what makes IMAX projectors sound like engines when they're running.

Awesome and no problem! When I originally made these tutorials it was to help my employees understand the projectors we use. I had no idea how many variations of IMAX projectors where out there at the time. There are some really cool film ones that are huge.

Great video, very short lifespan 900 hours. But those lamps run under immense large currents, temperatures and pressures. An expensive item for sure.

Those still only put out 4K resolution. 70mm 15-perf IMAX film is roughly 18K, any current digital system is a huge downgrade from that.

Christie projector very easy to install lamp, unlike Barco. Lamp power are good running no pressure of lamp. Barco projector very pressure of lamp power.

Why does the lamp access door have a lock on it ?
@cannibaltrout8030
6 ай бұрын
Cause those lamps are like under like 400psi in the bulb. Mishandle it and could go off like a grenade. Don’t need anyone messing in there unless you got a key.
