Hey, brother - thank you so much for this video. Noticed a sweet burning smell on our 2003 Honda Odyssey after driving on the freeway - leaking blue coolant from the plastic top of the radiator. Thanks to your video, I was able to do a job I would never in my right mind think I could ever do. Thank you for sharing your skills and wisdom for other folks to learn from and save a lot of money in the long run. You are much appreciated!

Great advice about taking off the bumper cover and headlights, made the job much easier, FYI, I was able to pull the radiator with the fans installed.

Thank-you, it was probably low 300,000 miles at that time. The transmission went out a few months ago.

What brand was the radiator that failed in one year? didn't have any issue with mounting tabs? Yours is a 2002?
@RocketGarageService

@@CRAPO2011it is a 2004. It was a “OEM”. But it came from the junkyard. We ran into a deer. I got the whole replacement front end from the junkyard. The junkyard radiator didn’t last too long. But it did get us by.

Could you have taken the radiator out with the fans still attached?
@RocketGarageService
Жыл бұрын
I am sure you could, but it would cause more work or damage then its worth. Fan were really not that bad to take off.

I've seen videos with the fans on the radiator put in and taken out.

It comes right out without removing fans,bumper ,headlights if you're patient and careful. Remove the brass intake and outlet fittings and it very quick and easy. Do the same for the new fittings and put them back on after the radiator us seated. Its a tight spot but very doable even with large hands . The fittings can be installed from under the van.
