Ari’s family attended the Special Olympics World Games this weekend in Los Angeles. After stopping by the Google Impact Challenge: Disabilities booth with her mom, Ari left the games with a new prosthetic hand.
Google, as a Games Supplier, built an interactive booth to showcase the power of assistive technology. Included in the booth was a demo from Google.org grantee e-NABLE, a global network of volunteers who print prosthetics for growing children.
Volunteers David and Lucas, from 3D printing company AIO Robotics, met with Ari and fitted her for a prosthetic hand. They worked all night to create a new one in her favorite color: pink! We see her trying it out for the first time.
