So is your Jet Ski a 1200 cc 4-stroke turbo.. I bought a jet boat. 3.6 mac boat. Running the 1200 4-stroke Honda turbo. How do you flush freshwater through them. I can't see anywhere you can do it.🤔

It is, and I've worked on a tremendous amount of Hondas, I currently own about 11 of them in various states from currently for sale running great to totaled hulls with good engines and blown up engines in bad hulls. The flush port is in the pump tunnel from the factory, if you skip to 1:48 in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/u4qMy4t8qKelfWU&ab_channel=trythistv it shows the fitting to flush with. I'm not sure if it will be the same in a jet boat, the plumbing might have been modified significantly.

Just changed the oil on my 2004 and I put in 4 qts. It’s way above the full line in the dipstick. Should I run it in the water and check it again before trying to suck out any oil? Worried it just hasn’t cycled through entirely yet.

I would run it at least for a bit so the oil can fill the filter and circulate. The Honda manual says to run for 5 minutes in the water and then let it sit for a minute, check the dipstick and fill until it is at the full mark when the dipstick is dipped until it stops but not threaded in.

How much oil did you end up adding exactly? Does the jet ski have to be level when checking?

Relatively level helps, but isn't mandatory, if it's at a big angle it will throw off the reading one way or another. I usually find it's just over 4 quarts, and is very finicky, sometimes 4.5 quarts doesn't look like enough but 5 quarts is way overfull. They're a little odd. I'd rather see it too full than too empty though, as long as it isn't like 2 quarts overfull that is.

Great video! If you don’t mind my asking.. what perks come with using Rotella diesel oul in this engine?
@trythistv

The big ones are the diesel oil has very strong detergents and additives to help suspend contaminants, and since you have to extract the oil from the top that helps avoid sludge building up in the engine. As well as it has a great film strength because diesel engines have such high compression there are a lot of forces pushing on the bearings so the oil needs to be able to hold up to that kind of heavy duty use, and in a PWC using that diesel oil helps keep all the bearings cushioned by oil even at the highest rpm and most severe use cases. I've used rotella in several rental fleets and had engines last well over 2000 hours without any oil related issues. In the end, they all gave up from being hydrolocked and breaking connecting rods.
