The reason the card underneath the rings method doesn't always work is because you can't tell which end the locking tab is located. Going back to the 'official' method, a bigger screw driver would have helped you get the cover off. Pulling the rings apart, if you have fingers long enough it's best to hook your fingers and thumbs in rings 3 and 4 on both sides. And pull evenly. When putting the rings in, make sure you pull the locking tab down. And then place the organiser on a flat surface and have it so you are pushing away from you not pulling towards you. It's also best to push down evenly at both ends as well, otherwise you can get the rings locked on but only at one end! Reassembly can be a bit fiddly, I hope you managed it. If any one has any problems with changing rings, just contact me direct. Thanks

Thanks for commenting and giving advice 😊 I did try a bigger screw driver but I felt I hadn't any room to place it when I had the card there also. The laminated piece gave me more room to work and that helped me to get the job done. Maybe a laminated piece and a bigger screw driver would be the best match - don't know and hope I don't have to ever find out 😅 I haven't yet tried the reassembling - I do it, when there is a need for it. Now I don't have any motivation to even try 😂

Thanks 😅 In retrospect I should have gone straight with the official way - but I know myself and I'm curious and lazy and like to try things myself, so if somebody says there is an easier way... I will try it 😂 It would have been so easy to take the rings out as a whole. I haven't still to this day even tried to put the old ones back together 🤣

Oh no - what kind of problems? I have spotted from your videos that you also seem to have an VDS TM.

@@Katiplans I don't know if it's because I snip my pages to take out, or if the holes are too small on my pre-punched pages, but they tend to get caught a bit. The outside of where the rings meet is nice and smooth and they close tightly. But inside it's a bit rough. I will likely reach out to them but I wanted to first just make sure I've tried all I can to make sure it's not 'user error'.

Well, if you reach out to them, please let me know what they say, because mine aren't either smooth and my inserts also get caught in the rings. The closing point isn't even, so no wonder things get stuck sometimes. I think people have just praised the Krause rings too much so I was expecting something superior compared to others - and now that they don't match my high expectations I feel disappointed... Or the quality has gone down - I don't know. But on the other hand even people who praise the rings have avoided opening and closing them which I always thought was stupid - but now I kinda understand. But I would like rings that I can open and close without worrying every time that now I will ruin them...

@@Katiplans I’ll let you know. I’m also partially holding off because I have some Krause rings I ordered from them separately when I ordered samples once a couple years ago in storage and will have access last week. I want to check it out.

An crazy idea would be to change the Krause rings to Moterm rings 😂 But I'm not so desperate yet - but that idea came to my mind yesterday 😅

To my ears that's a bit roughly said 🫣 but I do get your point 👍🏼 In Finland we have a saying which translates 'throw it at a waterfowl' meaning you give up on something that's bad or broken. I have always wondered about that saying, but rarely sayings make any sense if you start thinking about them 🤣
