Before y’all say it: Yes I gapped these spark plugs that are “pre-gapped” Yes I used the coin style gap tool for the iridium (it is fine if you are careful)

Just a quick tip about anti-seize on plugs: many spark plug manufacturers now have an anti-seize coating on their more upscale plugs (such as the Iridiums), and traditional anti-seize should not be used, because it'll actually gall the coating and cause issues with thread seizing in the future. Companies like NGK explicitly say you'll cause damage if you use anti-seize with their plugs.

Rabbit B. good comment! However I’ve always used anti-seize and never had any problems. It’s a habit. :/

Great video, quick tip, use the hole on your coin gap tool to open up the gap in the plug, just like on any iridium plug be careful on gapping them.

Horrible review. Bosch clearly says not to gap the double iridium or it will ruin it. It also says not to use the anti seize because it has a nickel coating. Follow instructions from the manufacturer of the car for torque. Also review the spark plug requirements.

In any advice given, you only use a drop of anti seize. Approx 5mm...You painted those plugs.

Your performance should increase with the change. 100k is pushing it for non iridium, and with the gaps on the old ones and the one diode being broken, new plugs will make a world of difference.

springfield03sniper it has. I can already feel it being a little more snappy on acceleration.

Chris Meacham great! One tip though: with the anti seize, just a dab will do it. Too much won’t necessarily hurt anything, but just a dab towards the bottom of the threads will spread over the rest as you tighten. Just a way to save a bit of product, and a few bucks over time!
@developmentdivision122

springfield03sniper yeah i do the bottom thread dab thing with my threadlockers. with anti seize i did apply too much, but i like to apply it on a line like i did in the video. It ensures all threads have anti-seize on it. Just a habit i suppose

Don't gap iridium plugs the way done in this video. EVER. If you absolutely must gap them, bend the ground strap and use the coin to CAREFULLY measure. DO NOT PUT PRESSURE ON THE IRIDIUM PADS. Iridium is insanely expensive, and there is only a tiny amount on there. They will use it to plate a nickel or copper or platinum pad, putting that gap tool in there will probably rub off the iridium.

Good video. I need to do mine it’s a 2010 but only has 54,000. Probably due. I used to switch to Bosch plugs also in all my vehicles but after researching most guys said go back with stock in the Jeep 🤷♂️. Interested to see how they work for you.

AZ WESTSIDE WHEELERS well a lot of people have been having the same damage on cylinder 2 of their stock plugs. So I’ll have to see if these Bosch ones do the same thing. Stock is always okay to go with, because the engine is engineered to use that equipment (5w-20 oil, mopar atf4, champion plugs).

Anti seize may mess up plug tip and grounding of the plug. NGK facy plugs have special metal no seize needed.
