Thank you so much for the demo! I havd a similar model but under different brand and my belts broke and the bold from the clutch disc got loose(found it in the belt cover) and was clueless as the manual did not cover replacing the belts. Your clip really really helped me! Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

That’s more trouble than I want to go thru. I guess that’s why I got a Champion chipper/shredder. Direct drive and clean out ports-no fuss no muss!!

Great demo. Clear, and we'll paced. I have a Forrest West. The same machine, different colour. I just needed to adjust tension on the belts. Of course, no instruction in the manual. Your demo was really helpful.

It may never break, but they do wear out. If you look around the belt cover of your chipper, you will likely see a black powder from the belt.

Hi, @@MC-pg2ko . Thanks for commenting. I am sure the day will arrive, and likely at the most inopportune time. As you say, at least you will know what you are getting into. You may want to start looking for a belt now. PA has been out of stock since well before I filmed the video.

I'm sure there could have been a better design than this,.. but there you go, Chinesium made! You way of changing the belts is radically different and far better from another brand but same machine, I watched as he used two heavy screwdrivers to pry the belts off one at a time,.. OUCH!

On your machine, have the 3 screws that hold the wire cage on over the muffler come loose yet? Mine fell out. Twice. I replaced them, and then the wire cage broke. PA doesn't have a replacement, but they offered to pay for having it repaired.

@@ByTheGraceOfGod316 No, not yet,.. I'll check them, and if they do, I'll drill each bolt head and 'tie wire' them so this won't happen again. Thanks. I am very mindful of maintenance, and I'll re-check all bolts after this oil change ( this coming weekend. ) Thanks for the 'alert'.

HI, thank you for responding to the pully question. my wood chipper like yours has two Orange knobs. one is the dipstick and the other one is exactly on the other side. What is the second orange knob for? God bless.
@ByTheGraceOfGod316

It is also an oil level spot, only without the dipstick. The engine gets used on different types of equipment. Some need access to the dip stick or fill port to be on the other side.

It appeared that tensioning the belt was done by adjusting the two centre bolts (between pulleys).. is this correct?
@ByTheGraceOfGod316
9 ай бұрын
Hi, @tecsonics. The two bolts between the pulleys just align the belt guard. The two long bolts between the engine and the output shoot re the ones that tension the belt by pushing the engine backwards. Hope that helps. May something truly awe inspiring happen to, or for you!

HI, how did you remove the pully?
@ByTheGraceOfGod316

Hi, @sidneyfreeman5545. I don't think I removed either of the the pulleys. If you tilt the engine, as I did in the video, you don't need to remove any of the pulleys. Let me know if I am remembering incorrectly.

Hi, @sidneyfreeman5545. I rewatched the video to refresh my memory. The pulley just slid off. It wasn't a struggle at all. That said, I don't think you need to remove the pulley. You should be able to get the belts off & back on by just tipping the engine.

Мы используем метрическую систему здесь, в Канаде. Не то, чтобы нам, пожилым людям, это нравилось, но это то, что у нас есть.

Thanks for the video. I am wondering if there might be an easier way to remove the belt, along the lines noted here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0ZyAl5qbnoF3oG0. If you wedged the two screwdrivers in the lower pulley, you might be able to lever the belt off without needing to loosen anything on the wood chipper. Just a thought...thanks again for a helpful video.

Hi, @phildoc7730. That might work and be easier, but I was trying to show how a person my age, or with reduced strength, might do it. Anyway, thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. May you have something truly awe inspiring happen to, or for, you this week!
