I thoroughly enjoy the great explanation of how these components work- nice details and great information! Thanks so much, a huge help for me. I now have three of these beauties and each has its own problems that I am attempting to sort out with the help of your videos.

These is a adjustment screw down the center of what would be the carburetor. Get a long screwdriver and a flashlight to see the adjustment screw then screw it in or out and test the sharpness of the throttle with each turn of the screw . Find the sweet spot. Lean or rich . The adjustable screw is in the center of the what would be the carburetor air intake. Goodluck

Not sure if that model has a coldstart injection, besides the other injector's. But I resolved this issue by running the coldstart injector directly to a switch, essentially manually using this separate injector as a choke for a couple of minutes on/off until it warms up. Hope this helps. 🤔

Hi, That's a good idea, in my case all is working fine since I changed the regulator. I had put a switch for the cooling fan so I can turn that off & on when I run the air conditioner or stuck in traffic, normally it would only turn on at 100 degrees, so I'm not adverse to amendments, cheers, Paul.

Hi mate I have the exact same car as this blue 79 450SLC. Recently I managed to rip a vacuum hose from behind the battery as I was changing the battery and it must have got snagged. I would like to know what this vacuum hose controls? Would yo be able to have a look if I post you a pic?

How would you bring the pin up of you needed to or if you go down to far when adjusting?

Hi, Robert A quick test, if you push on the air flow plate and it leans out, then the warm up regulator isn't working properly, not enough pressure. Tapping the pressure regulator body inwards will increase the control pressure, and viceversa; tapping the strip post inwards will reduce the cold start control pressure and viceversa. NOTE that the regulator body may take some force to move in the body, and it should only be done carefully, AND with the regulator dismantled - cap, button, shim and O-ring removed, otherwise the unit may be fatally damaged. I just pasted that note here, Please remember you have to remove the warm up regulator and strip it down before tapping the top cover in or out. This is what the pressure settings should be, you'll have to convert the F to C degrees if you live in Australia. System pressure 65-75 psi Control pressure at 50F 17psi 75F 30psi 100F 44psi Warm Control 41-46psi
