much easier to bleed the brakes using a 3/16 clear tube on the nipple, run it into a bottle of brake fluid. This eliminates the yelling back and forth to pump and when to stop pumping the brake. Once the there are no more bubbles in the tube, just tighten the bleeder valve and you are done. You can even do this by yourself. Also make sure you have the drum installed when doing this otherwise you will extend the pistons in the cylinder all the way out and it will leak.

Hey Gordon, wow there was quite a bit of brake fluid all over the place ! You said you were going to do a brake job on a different time but, there isn't that much pad left on the shoe ! Good thing that the rear brakes are only barely used because the front brakes come on first ! Looks like it all went really great !
@57bagre

He won't be doing the brakes after all, He wrecked it a month or so back, not due to the brakes but at a busy intersection he or the other guy making a turn. Actually the rear brakes try to come on slightly before the front to reduce nose dive but it's so close you might as well say the same time.

Winters are always a slow time for me. I used to do snow but it was too unreliable, I used to go to trade shows but all I ended up doing was buy new toys. I usually end up learning something new over the winter. For the last few it's been something to do with video editing. What do you do over the winter?

I still drive, but not as much. I try to have enough parts and materials saved up to do repairs and new projects inside. One new project that I already bought materials for, I think you might be interested in is faux rock for pond and landscape. There is a KZitemr named Don Perry (dperry428) who is very good at faux rock projects, I have contacted him by phone and he loves to share his knowledge, you need to see his pond and rock videos.

My neighborhood is maybe 40% Hispanic, so when I moved here in '87 I started brushing up on my Spanish and made friends with as many neighbors as I could, I enjoy learning other cultures. Thanks for asking.

hey ... u díd a great job there Sir. but i was asking myself why didn't u Just change the rubbers inside the wheel cylinder instead of change the whole thing. i'm Just saying.
@57bagre
3 жыл бұрын
Most of the time the cylinder has rust pits in the bore that are leaking more than the rubber cups. The cylinders are cheap and won't need to make another trip to the parts store if a kit doesn't do the job.
