I have been looking the tuohitako knife in lamnia website. I had really nice birch bark handled knife as kid with just Laurin metalli blade that i got for 20e. I guess it was already 20+ yrs ago by now im still annoyed i immediately lost it within year i bought it. This reminds me of that other than it had shorter blade what i can remember. I have no idea what company made it back then, byt i assume it was these small finnish knife manufacturers just using Lauri blades

Would you suggest, the Condor Darklore please? (it's the same as their Bushlore,wth 1095 steel, instead on 1075) If not, what would you suuggest, for an upgrade to the Mora Bushcraft Black (any except Garberg or Jaakari Puuko) Thanks in advance.
@KuukkeliBushcraft

The darklore looks really good, I have the bushlore and it's a good knife. I hade some issues with the sheath but the darklore comes in a different one. Better steel and great looking knife. The Peltonen Sissipuukko may also be worth looking at or some Joker knives. I will also be trying out some Taxus knives products soon, they look good too. Brisa knives are good but very similar to what Joker produce and not quite the same value or fit and finish in my experience. Also the Woodsknife Predator if you don't mind something a bit shorter Maybe I will do a comparison of a few midrange bushcraft knives next week. It might help you and a few other people out possibly. I will see what I can do.

Hello Richard, everything is fine mate. I am just working far too much. I have filmed some stuff, but not uploaded as I feel the quality of the videos is not up to scratch. Too tired and hurried. Also the weather has been seriously cold, below - 40 at times in the last couple of weeks. That kind of makes filming a little difficult. Also is it very dark this time of year. I have uploaded a couple of shorts. They have done really well, but shorts kind of feel like cheating, I much prefer making longer videos. It's not all about the views. I have to say I feel touched by your concern. Thank you very much. I will upload soon.

Hey Tim, it seemed to me that you loved animals... why would you enjoy hunting and killing them?
@KuukkeliBushcraft
9 ай бұрын
I eat meat, I am not necessarily going to hunt, but do have the papers that I legally can. I also would rather eat something that I know has been humanely killed and not spent it's life in a pen waiting for the slaughter house. My thoughts on hunting are a little more complex than that but I certainly think it can be far more ethical than livestock farming.
@melusinecentun5847
9 ай бұрын
@@KuukkeliBushcraft well, I am biased because I am a vegan but to me, there is a huge difference between buying meat from the supermarket and shooting a harmless animal that is so beautiful to watch... but you are right concerning the fact that their lives in farms and deaths in slaughterhouses are worse than being killed in nature, if the death is quick... I just do not see how you could pull the trigger
@KuukkeliBushcraft
9 ай бұрын
@@melusinecentun5847 I don't find it easy to kill things. I have a couple of times shortened the lives of animals that were suffering.it's not nice Also I do fish. I also feel that if someone does eat meat they should be able to kill or should probably be vegetarian. These are all just ideas and thoughts at the moment. Just because I have the permits doesn't mean I will necessarily use them. Hunting does seem to me to be a more ethical way of obtaining meat than factory farmed pork in a plastic wrapper.

Tim, that sure is beautiful country you’re in. I understand that it is very harsh there during the winter, but that snowfall is so beautiful. I’m sure that everything slows down in the cold weather. Chores become more challenging in the low light and freezing temperatures. Personally, I am envious of your lifestyle. I realize that I would never have the skills or be tough enough to make it in that climate. So, I really appreciate the effort that you are putting into your videos. Be encouraged and never take all that you have for granted. Life is short so enjoy everyday. - Tennessee Smoky

@@edwinmason123 sleeping bags? My favourite (especially when you take price into account) is the Snugpack Antarctica. Comfort rating down to about -20 Celsius. Colder temps and I just put a summer bag inside. I am currently using Carinthia defence 6, similar ratings, more money and actually doesn't feel as warm and comfortable. The best I have used that I remember is the North Face Dark Star, I don't know if they still make them but the price would probably be about the same as the other 2 combined. Coldest camp out last winter was -38 Celsius in the Carinthia 6 with a summer bag inside. Plenty warm enough. An over quilt can work better than a second sleeping bag by the way.It compresses the insulation less. Two sleeping pads too can be a very good idea and I don't trust the inflatable ones if it is really cold.
