Yeah it's very sad. I've known many women who are in these types of relationships. Alot of them take on the state of mind that it's "impossible" or "too risky" to leave the abusive party and start fresh. They worry that they might end up homeless, alone, or God forbid if they have children, that the kids will end up homeless with them or struggling to survive. It's extremely sad and I pray Women in these situations can pull enough power together to act. I think most people would like to see more community programs available for women in these situations. Not always is it physical abuse, verbal abuse and financial abuse is just as traumatic. I'm a single father and the financial end of my life causes me great stress due to my son's medical condition. But I pray to God and give it my all every single day. I pray this lady can do the same. We all deserve happiness, peace and prosperity in our lives.

@bluedragonfly8139

IDK, seems to me like she's more an example of someone who's at least a co-abuser who got caught. Notice how when she's asked 'did he hit you' she doesn't actually answer? Just says 'Well, I defended myself' followed by a rambling excuse as to why *he's* bleeding, but she doesn't have a mark on her. By your logic, she should be thrown in jail and never let out. Also? That 'never hit a girl' b.s. completely ignores female abusers. Maybe rethink that.
@LauraS1
Жыл бұрын
Women aren't as fragile as you might think. If one hits you for whatever reason, you are perfectly correct to defend yourself, even if that means you strike her back. It's a nice touch of chivalry to say "never hit a woman" but if they're hitting YOU and abusing YOU, by all means, fight back. I don't hit my husband but if I did, I fully expect him to hit me back and vice versa. He knows he'll have to drop me from the outset or I will come for his blood. LOL Fortunately, neither of us are terribly violent people.

It’s sad that our mental health infrastructure is so broken. It perpetuates this behavior and drug abuse. My brother suffered from a lot of mental health issues that were enabled by an Hispanic household that favored men. He could do no wrong and everything he did was awarded (good or bad). Either to shut him up or keep him happy so he wouldn’t act out. As he got older, he was harder to control as a 6 foot 300lb TEENAGER. This is where it turned violent. The enabling and the lack of mental health assistance turned into frequent stints of baker act holds. 3 days in a mental facility is all is needed for the anger to subside and turn to manipulative behavior to get out of holding. Then as it goes, they turn to drugs and alcohol to self medicate. I feel for all these people. Imagine what a loving home and mental health assistant could do.

I I absolutely admire Sargent Gordon in Portland. She is the essence of confidence and kindness. I think every interaction she is involved in gives the suspect every opportunity to comply and she shows compassion and respect to them all. What an inspiration.

It’s sad to see Jason in that predicament. Again shows how our broken medical system is particularly for people with metal illness. That officer is fantastic at her Job!

Sgt Scott has always made me gain more respect for him every time I see him.
I feel bad for Yolanda (dv), Jason (Mental health), the transgender individual, and that blonde girl from Colorado. For Jason, Yolanda, and even the transgender individual, sometimes the systems fucks up when they need other resources. Jail is not helpful for them. Same with that young girl, Stephanie who has a 4 year old who is in Mexico. She needs resources not incarceration or charges
